Alison Walks - Katana 7"

German trio Alisøn Walks is a new fastcore band from Berlin. They released a new EP at the beginning of this year. “Katana” emerges a perfect storm of hardcore ferocity, fastcore velocity, grind aggression, and punk attitude – executed with solid confidence.
The sonic DNA of Alisøn Walks is damn good variation of classic and modern approaches. This shit sound rough, wicked like a short and damn painful punch right into the face! The guitar has a signature tone, a sweet chainsaw-through-wet-timber sound. This and fast drumming form the foundation of this EP. Above this maelstrom hover good screaming vocals, that are spiting out a pissed off hate and rage. While primarily operating at blistering tempos that threaten to derail into chaos, Alisøn Walks occasionally downshifts into crushing mid-tempo passages that allow listeners momentary respite before the next blitzkrieg. Rather than succumbing to technical masturbation or progressive indulgence, the band embraces punk’s raw ethos – direct, unfiltered aggression delivered directly to your mind.
The boys managed to create something both reverential and refreshingly contemporary. Must say this is a bad ass beginning of their way. Hope to hear more of their noise soon!
