Laxisme - s/t LP

Laxisme are a band from Leipzig, but a lot more than just the French lyrics provoke comparisons to that certain breed of French bands who play that special mix of straightforward and ultra-catchy garage and post-punk with a subtle hint of Oi! as we have heard from bands such as Telecult, Distance, Stalled Minds, Nightwatchers, Litovsk or early Bleakness, although various more garage-oriented Euro bands such as the Belgians Mitraille, Pedigree and Itches; Achterlicht from the Netherlands and the Italians Dadar and Shitty Life also offer themselves as comparisons in places. So yes, nothing groundbreaking or new to be heard here, but the simple formula still packs a punch when executed competently and the presentation here is top notch – performed with excellent drive and energy, a bit of a ’77 edge and a number of certified killer tunes like Grand Cerveaux and 7 Secondes make things perfect.
